![]() | Wolfie's story Wolife is a rescue dog who came over from Greece. He was startled and pulled the lead from his new owner's hand, within hours of arriving. Wolfie then spent three weeks living out on the New Forest, before being caught by a vet 10 miles away from where he went missing. Read more about Wolfie here >> |

![]() | Our great plant sale - Reloaded! Our last plant sale raised £187.50 on the day and with subsequent sales we have now raised nearly £300 so a big thank you to everyone that has helped and was close enough to join us on the day. The local press coverage really helped and we now have some new volunteers in Devon which is fantastic, so welcome to Pat and Lynne. As the plants grow on I still find myself with 3 greenhouses full – how does that happen? – and so I am holding another sale on Sunday, 23rd May at The Bell Inn in Parkham which is famous for its Sunday lunches. If anyone is close enough do come and join us but phone and book for lunch as the venue is very popular with locals and tourists alike. Thank you also for all the really nice comments about the newsletter, and congratulations to Helen Rigg who was the winner of the quiz and recently visited me with her two lovely shepherds to collect her prize – guess what we changed the prize from a Max to plants!! The next newsletter is currently in production for issue early June and so please do send me any stories, pictures as we would love to include them. Download a poster here. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Pets at Home - November 26th 2009 We have been very lucky! We applied for a grant from Pets at Home to enable us to build a kennel for Cassie – the scared girl whose story is on our urgent page. Cassie is coming down to the New Forest to take up residence in her new kennel before Christmas where she can relax, put on some weight and learn to trust again. Pets at Home very generously agreed to donate £1,000 to enable us to take this step and a group of friends, two legged and four legged, went to the Christchurch branch to collect the cheque. Lynne Hall accepted the cheque from representatives of the store, who were able to hear more about the work undertaken by the rescue and who had the chance to meet some of the dogs. Our old friend, George came, along with his new owner, John. Kye came along too, with his new owners, Karen and Paul. Henry came with his owner Rachel. Bobby was still waiting for his for ever home, but he came along too (he has gone to his own home) and some ‘extra’ supporters came along to provide moral support – Zarina, Heidi and Tiggi. A big thank you to our four legged supporters and their ‘charges’! Last, but not least, thank you to our two legged supporters – Karen, Sue, Nick, Tania and David for coming along as well! It is a really nice day – great to meet up with everyone, and, of course to meet with Pets at Home, with whom we hope to develop a lasting relationship.
